5:30pm – Spooky Beats The Bloomington Community Band presents TUNES FROM THE CRYPT, a showcase of macabre music accompanied by classic black and white horror videos. We've dug up all your favorite ghoulish tunes, from the Addams Family to Michael Jackson's Thriller to Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor! Come celebrate Halloween in costume with your Bloomington Community Band.
The Bloomington Community Band is an all-volunteer concert band comprised from 50 to 60 musicians ranging in age from 18 to 85. Proclaimed by the Mayor in 2012 as Bloomington's Official Community Concert Band, the BCB has been a distinguished feature of our city's artistic identity for almost four decades. A community band has figured prominently throughout Bloomington's history, with roots tracing back to the Seward town bands of the mid and late 19th Century. Since we reconvened in 1978, more than 800 adult musicians from all walks of life have joined us to share the joy of making music.
7pm – Movie Treats Scooby-Doo Stage Fright The gang is back and ready for another mystery to solve! Join Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, and the Mystery Inc. crew as they head to Chicago for a talent show, some museum tours, and a whole lotta pizza! The Windy City is home to the hit TV show, Talent Star, in which songwriting duo Fred and Daphne are favored, finalists. Not to be left out, Scooby and Shaggy have a secret act in the works, which they think will take the contest by storm. Unluckily for them, the competition is frightful as the show is being broadcast from an opera house with a history of horrors and a particularly vengeful phantom that has cursed the show’s production. But the show must go on. With a natural talent like Scooby-Doo on the case, you can be sure that laughs, thrills, and adventure always take first place!
